What is RF microneedling?

Often called “gold needle” treatment in Türkiye, RF microneedling delivers radiofrequency energy through fine needles. It is a medical procedure rather than a laser treatment. It may be considered for selected acne scars and texture concerns, depending on the diagnosis.

Assessing suitability

The assessment considers active acne, scar type, skin tone, previous procedures and healing history. Mention medicines, bleeding problems, cold sores and implanted devices such as a pacemaker. A treatment decision should compare realistic benefits with the risks and alternatives.

Sessions and recovery

Anaesthesia and aftercare depend on the area, device and individual needs. Redness, swelling and small crusts may occur. A fixed course is not suitable for everyone; response and recovery guide decisions about further sessions.

Important risks

Reported complications include burns, scarring, pigment changes and infection. Serious reports also include fat loss and nerve injury; the FDA highlighted safety concerns in 2025. The procedure should not be presented as risk-free or universally suitable. Complete removal of scars cannot be promised.

Frequently asked questions

Is it the same as laser resurfacing?

No. Radiofrequency and laser use different forms of energy, and the appropriate option depends on your skin problem.

What care is needed afterwards?

Follow the agreed gentle skin-care and sun-protection plan. Report increasing pain, extensive redness or unexpected changes promptly.
