Medical education and dermatology training
Born in Milas, Muğla in 1983, Dr. Volkan Tektaş studied medicine at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine in Ankara between 2001 and 2008. He completed his dermatology specialty training at the same faculty between 2009 and 2014.
Clinical experience
He completed compulsory service at Van Erciş State Hospital in 2014–2015, followed by three years at Sultanbeyli State Hospital in Istanbul. After leaving public service, he joined Özel FSM Tıp Merkezi, where he continues to work. His practice includes the assessment of dermatological conditions and cosmetic dermatology procedures.
Academic work and continuing education
His specialty thesis examined oxidative stress in people with psoriasis and its relationship with smoking. His academic work includes oral presentations and posters at congresses, along with reviews and publications in national journals. He has attended courses in dermatopathology, dermatologic surgery, dermoscopy and cosmetic dermatology.
His approach emphasises keeping up with medical developments, listening to patients’ questions and planning treatment according to individual examination findings.
